Our first Napro appointment
Infertility IVF Pregnancy after Infertility

Our First NaPro Appointment

I decided after having gone through a failed IVF cycle and a miscarriage after going through IVF, that I was NOT going to do IVF again. We decided to try NaPro Technologies.

If you didn’t hear, we didn’t get pregnant through IVF. Our miracle baby, Kason, was not conceived in a petri dish. We got pregnant spontaneously, and he is the best thing that has ever happened to us.

Because of my decision, I have decided to move forward with a more natural approach. By getting rid of harmful chemicals in our home, and using more organic and healthier products for my skin (deodorant, eye cream, etc). In March/April I went through 6 sessions of Mercier Therapy, and we are now moving forward with Napro Technologies.

Napro Technologies is a new women’s health science that monitors and maintains a woman’s reproductive and gynecological health. It provides medical and surgical treatments that cooperate completely with the reproductive system.”

Before meeting with our Napro doctor here in Utah, we had questionnaires to fill out. Mine was 23 pages long and Chase’s was 17. Mine was in regards to our fertility, when I started my period, our IVF cycles, our stress levels, our eating habits, etc. It was a very detailed questionnaire.

During the 2-40 minute appointments he talked to us about what we’ve done asked more follow up questions, and he did a physical on both Chase and I.

Leaving the appointment we had our own tasks to complete, as well as other items that we need to consider changing (our diet, stress, lifestyle, etc). While we felt it was great to talk to him, it would’ve been nice to get some of these tests done before our appointment.

I need to:

  1. Get our fertility records to our new doctor
  2. Learning to track our cycle with the Creighton Model
  3. Start taking Folic Acid with at least 400mcg every day
  4. Listing out everything I eat and drink for 7 days
  5. Get an early cycle blood test (testing my estradiol, AMH, FSH, LH, TSH, Vitamin D and Lipid profile)
  6. Keep using Progesterone Cream after an LH surge

Chase’s list:

  1. Get a Semen Analysis
  2. Listing out everything he eats and drinks for 7 days

We go back for a follow up in August. Our doctor did say that he wants at least 8 optimal cycles. That doesn’t necessarily mean consecutive cycles.

While I’m excited to try something new, I’m not excited for all the things I have to remember.

Have you ever heard of NaPro before? If yes, I would love to know your experience with it!
