Our Infertility Journey Isn’t Over

Leave a Comment on Our Infertility Journey Isn’t Over

Our infertility journey isn’t over, and this time we’re dealing with secondary infertility. Over the past year, I haven’t shared any part of our infertility journey. I kinda wanted to hide from the online community and not share anything too personal. Why? It has been the best thing to not think about growing our family …

  • I’ve been seeing my NaPro doctor on and off for the past 3 months. He did several ultrasounds (himself I might add) to see if I had follicles growing, to see what position my uterus is in, and check to see if I ovulated. We did blood tests to check my progesterone and estrogen levels.
.
My follicles weren’t getting big enough (around 19-22mm) and they like them between 23-25mm. My progesterone declined drastically a few days after my LH surge. Once I saw that, I knew my period was going to start.
.
So they put me on Clomid for a few cycles as well as progesterone suppositories. The goal is to have bigger better quality eggs, and a higher progesterone level.
.
The beginning of December I started taking 2 additional supplements; Taurine, and Turmeric. Taurine is needed for early human development (preimplantation), and needed if you are suffering from excessive estrogen, it is also supposed to help reverse insulin resistance. Turmeric is a powerful antioxidant and is an anti-inflammatory and have read it helps with women who have endometriosis. 🤞🏻Hoping these along with Clomid help some eggs grow to be the right size!
  • She was Powerful is an inspiring quote for any woman (or girl) looking for some inspiration on some dark days. Sometimes we have to go on strongly despite the fear that’s inside us.

  • Why would hate such a burden to bear? Have you ever thought of that? Is it a burden to love then too? How do you feel with feelings of anger and hate inside you vs feelings of love, compassion, and charity? Can love and hate survive together, no. I think we feel more burdens with feelings of anger, hate, and resentment, than with love. I’ve learned a lot about the power of words and how they impact ice (yes, ice of all things) and plants. If words can impact plants and ice then they most definitely can impact our hearts and other people. So today i’m remembering to love more and to work towards being anti-racist, watching my language, the shows I watch, by teaching our children to be anti-racist, and by standing by my friends of color, because LOVE is more powerful than hate.

  • I can’t believe it’s been 9 months. We’ve almost experienced all 4 seasons without Ethan. Looking at pictures of last April, I see a family so heartbroken for the loss of their son. I see so much pain and love in those photos. I still have thoughts of “it’s not fair,” and when I think those, I remember what my friend (who lost her son when he was 3) said, “this is how it should be, because this is how it is.” I feel it sounds harsh, but that’s the reality. We are living each day without Ethan, missing out on ALL of those memories that we would’ve had. This is how it should be. I’m not happy about how it should be, but this is how it is.
.
Sending love to all my friends who have lost a baby. I’d love to remember your baby! Would you comment below (or DM) with your babies name and birthdate?
